NANOGENERATORS
ABSTRACT
Power is always an essential attrocity, and the need for same remains an un-ending requirement .On the wheel of development of todayâ„¢s multifaceted technology, newer methods are invented with a phenomenal pace .Generation of power is thus a technological infrastructure that needs to be updated in par with the inventions. Here ,a newer class of generators are being introduced. In accordance to the miniaturization trend a miniature power generator namely, Nanogenerator. Small scale electrical generator includes an elongated substrate and a first piezoelectric fine wire. The first piezoelectric fine wire is disposed along a surface of the substrate. The first piezoelectric fine wire has a first end and a spaced-apart second end. A first conductive contact secures the first end of the fine wire to a first portion of the substrate and a second conductive contact secures the second end of the fine wire to a second portion of the substrate. A fabric made of interwoven strands that includes fibers from which piezoelectric nanowires extend radially therefrom and conductive nanostructure, which constitute the prima of a nanogenerator.This includes a first conductive layer, a plurality of semiconducting piezoelectric nanostructures, a second conductive layer and a plurality of conductive nanostructures. The first conductive layer has a first surface from which the semiconducting piezoelectric nanostructures extend. The second conductive layer has a second surface and is parallel when a force is applied, the semiconducting piezoelectric nanostructures engage the conductive nanostructures so that the piezoelectric nanostructures bend, thereby generating a potential difference across the semiconducting piezoelectric nanostructures and also thereby forming a Schottky barrier between the semiconducting piezoelectric nanostructures and the conductive nanostructures.
