Introduction:
A technology stepping into every aspect of our lines, powerful enough to make things easier andimpossible which hitherto was unimaginable. Thesethings include desktop manufacturing cellularrepairs, artificial intelligence, inexpensive spacetravel, abundant energy and environmentalrestoration, ie radically changing the whole economicand political systems. This is the Nanotechnology.Nanotechnology is the creation of useful materials, devices and systems through manipulation of miniscule matter, manipulation of matter at theatomic or nonoscale (i.e one billionth of meter). The semiconductors industry is edging closer to theworld of non technology where components areminiastured to the point of individual molecules andatones this world alone automatic contention of consumer goods with traditional labour like a Xeroxml/c produces unlimited retyping of the originalinformation. The shotgun marriage of chemistry andengineering called is ushering in the era of self-replicating machinery and self-assemblingconsolatory goods made from cheap raw atoms.
The New Era of Nano Computers:
Nanotechnology is all about building workingmechanisms using components. Such as supercomputers (bacteria sized) with today’s MIPS (Millioninstructions per sec) capacity, or super computers inthe size of sugar cube possessing the power of abillion laptops regular sized desktop model withpower of billions of today’s PC and magnetic storagedesks could word 100,000 tones more data thancurrentdisk.Computation will then become a property of matter, computers right be morporated in next generation,by 2010 we will be aware of our using nanoscalecomputers.
Ballistic Sensor Disc:
Nanoscale computers will certain hard disks, whichhave sensors, sensitive enough to detect presence orabsence of magnetic field in a microscopic bit of material. This is done as if the magnetic field isstrong enough to change a sensors electron flow thebift represents a 1, if not it is 0, the key factor ismaking sensors that can read and matter bits inincreasing the magnetic resistance of sensors.
Spintronics:
Researchers are aiming to make a spin basedcomputer chip that does all the timing thatconventional chip do but with cost power size andwere viability advantages that come from magneticlogic with the concept of Spintronics hard disks maybe replaced with plastic memories to open up manyopportunities for new technologies such as flexibledisplays and responsive solar cells.Ohio State University researchers have made nearlyall the moving electrons inside a sample of plastic.
Smart Dust:
These are bottle-cap-shaped micro-machines fittedwith wireless communication devices - that measurelight and temperature, When clustered together, theyautomatically create highly flexible, low-powernetworks with applications ranging from climate-control systems to entertainment devices thatinteract with handheld computers."
