Abstracts: In this project author are trying to solve a problem faced by Sintex Industries Ltd., which is a plastic based industry. Our Industrial Defined Problem (I.D.P) is related to the manufacturing department of meter box, where compression moulding machine is used for preparing the boxes. The raw material used in this machine is composite sheets prepared in S.M.C (SHEET MOULD COMPOUND) machine. The composite sheets consist of plastic sheets and glass fiber. Chemical compound which is used as matrix, in which glass fibers are embedded, mainly consists of polyester resin and fillers; this chemical compound is prepared by manually pouring and mixing by motor controlled mixer. This prepared compound is transported to the S.M.C machine manually, due to which continuous production of sandwich sheets (raw material) does not take place, which reduces the rate of production. Production rate can be increased by making the whole process continuous, which can be achieved by automation of mixing and transportation of chemical compound used for making resins.
