INTRODUCTION
The terms information technology has ballooned to encompass many aspects of computing and technology, and the term is more recognizable than ever before. The end objective is to make the effective and efficient use of information to resolve uncertainly and enhance productivity at each level; individual, society and government. On this theoretical background is the hypothesis formulated. The application of information technology in small and medium-scale businesses is not easy, especially if it is related to the weaknesses found in the management of small-scale businesses. The main problem is due to the prior perception that information technology is expensive and complicated to be utilized by the small-scale entrepreneur. The second problem is the unavailability of the information technology infrastructure that does not support the implementation of information technology. The third problem concerns with the educations and skills of the human resources in using the information technology.

Altogether 2811 Small Scale Industries units covering groups of small industries were selected to collect data through a well-designed questionnaire.
