Photo-catalytic degradation process for the treatment of waste water containing Benzoic acid in the low concentration range was studied using artificial UV radiation and TiO2 as photo catalyst. The experiments were carried out in continuous sectionalized bubble column reactor. The effect of catalyst loading, feed concentration, pH and flow rate on the degradation of Benzoic acid was studied. Maximum degradation of about 89% was found at the self pH 3.5. Thus photo catalytic degradation of Benzoic acid before neutralization can be recommended. Adsorption of Benzoic acid on TiO2 was nearly 40% which was decreased in presence of anions.
