Abstracts: Our project aims at refining the Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) further. Improvisation in terms of time complexity reduction and code optimization is what our project is striving for. Refining a security algorithm will give gratification to the previous algorithm while the basic idea of the algorithm will remain intact. The improvement of the code will be based on two major objects that is time reduction of execution and complexity of the code should be reduced. The main purpose of this project is to reduce the time of execution and the complexity of SHA. We aspire to provide a security algorithm which would be reduced in terms of time and complexities and for all possible inputs it will give most secure cipher text. The current security applications & systems are based on MD5, RSA, SHA, IDEA, CAST-128 etc. Some of these algorithms are efficient enough but costs huge amount and some are vulnerable to various attacks. According to the Patent Search Analysis Report and research papers suggested that there was scope to update SHA. So by researching among the available algorithms we were able to find SHA as the algorithm which we will be working on. The refined version will be well suitable for those applications which run on lower configurations and will be usable in various security systems which could not support the previous SHA because of cost, space requirements, time and complexity of the code. Organizations which are using SHA can increase the performance of their existing system by implementing the refined version of SHA. This project will be developed under the guidance of Mr. Rohit Srivastava.
