INTRODUCTION TO RESUME
A resume is a brief, concise document that advertises you are most relevant and positive credentials, for the employment of other professional purposes. Resume is the only way to grab the employer attention.
OVERVIEW OF RESUME:
A resume is divided into several parts by handling such as objective, education, experiences, achievements and skills. It is necessary that the contents of resume should follow a specific pattern.
OBJECTIVES:
It will impress the employer as it speaks of a specific goal. The objective should answer three questions.
• Job title.
• Skills supporting job title.
• Professional identity.
EDUCATION:
Follow a reverse chronological order mentioning your last degree first. Mention your degree, year of passing, institution from where you completed your degree and percentage of marks you secured.
EXPERIENCE:
Experiences include fulltime paid jobs, academic research projects, internship or part time job.
SKILL
Skills sections have two parts technical skills and non technical skills. Technical skills include the list of computer languages and software you know. In non technical skills soft skills and leadership skills are included.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Achievements must include academic awards as scholarship fellowship honors. Professional and educational achievements. The achievements should be mentioned which have some evidence.
PERSONAL INFORMATION:
Resume should start with name in bold with complete postal address and with email id and phone number.
EXPERIENCE:
Write your experience in two different formats.
• Functional format.
• Chronological format.
