ABSTRACT:
Inspection robot for power
transmission line is a new type of
technical carrier for detection and
inspection of mechanical/ electrical
failures in high-voltage (110kV, 220kV)
and extra high voltage (500kV or above)
power transmission system. The robot
equipped with sensors, detection
instruments and data communication
apparatus, is capable of inspecting
transmission system without suspending
power supply.,
INTRODUCTION:
Power transmission line inspection
is of utmost importance for power
companies towards having sustainable
electricity supply to vast number of
customers in major industries as well as
households in a city. Inspection provides
valuable data from status of the line,
BLOCK DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION:
CURRENT TRANSFORMER:
A current transformer is defined as
a transformer that produces a current in its
secondary circuit that is in proportion to its
primary current. In electrical engineering,
a current transformer (CT) is used for
measurement of electric currents. Current
transformers, together with voltage
transformers (VT) (potential transformers
(PT)), are known as instrument
transformers. When current in a circuit is
too high to directly apply to measuring
instruments, a current transformer
produces a reduced current accurately
proportional to the current in the circuit,
which can be conveniently connected to
measuring and recording instruments.
SIGNAL CONDITIONING UNIT:
The signal conditioning unit accepts
input signals from the analog sensors and
gives a conditioned output of 0-5V DC
corresponding to the entire range of each
parameter. This unit also accepts the
digital sensor inputs and gives outputs in
10 bit binary with a positive logic level of
+5V. The calibration voltages* (0, 2.5 and
5V) and the health bits are also generated
in this unit. The unit is powered through
DCSTunit.
