Abstracts: This project deals with the design and fabrication of pedal powered hacksaw machine. The aim of our project work is to develop a modernized operation for cutting metal, wood and plastic materials. It is very useful for cutting above types of materials without using electrical power and that way helping the fight against the global warming and helping in saving green fields. It can be used widely in any mechanical industry where machining activities are started from the bar stock. As cutting of small pieces from the long round bar, flats, pipes etc. is the first operation – hacksaw machine is basically the mother machine of any engineering company. As hacksaw machine cuts the pieces from large bars it consumes very high power as it requires very high torque. Due to this very reason we decided to develop machine which uses NO POWER and we are able to develop this machine by using the principle of converting the rotary motion in to reciprocating motion and use human efforts rather than using electrical power. Since pedalling is the easiest way to use human power, we chose to use the principle of cycling and use foot power rather than using any other body organs.
