The work deals with the synthesis of 4-fluoroaniline and 4-fluoro-N-isopropylaniline, intermediates required for dye-stuffs, pesticides and pharmaceuticals. Effects of operating parameters such as speed of agitation, catalyst loading, hydrogen partial pressure, reaction temperature and the reactant concentration on the progress of the reaction have been reported.
