At team level-help team members understand why they are having so much difficulty in achieving team objectives, and suggest coping strategies for intolerable situation.

If the foundation is not well established, solely team-based intervention leads to intrateam competition and withdrawl.

What does a Team-Building workshop involve?
It involves-activities as conflict resolution, problem solving, development of norms, trust building, goal setting, etc
Such activities involve-experiential exercise:
First requirement involves Awareness raising.
Second-need some diagnostic, instrument –based feedback so that team members can have a valid map of where they and their teammates are located.
Third, each intervention must include a practice field.
Thus, team should not only talk but practise a lot.
Rocket model-simple and pragmatic model
Teams vary on number of important factors such as, group size, norms, stages, cohesion.
Leader need to consider these factors when creating and leading Teams.
Its is Prescriptive bcoz it tells leaders what steps to take and when to take-when building new teams.
Its Diagnostic tool to understand where existing teams are falling short and what leaders need to do to get them back on track.
Gist
The Rocket Model© is provides a framework for understanding the critical components of and actions needed to improve team functioning and performance. The Rocket Model© is both descriptive and prescriptive, as it can be used to describe what is going well or poorly on a team and prescribe what teams need to do and the order by which the actions should be taken in order to improve morale or effectiveness.
Critical Assumptions: What is the context?
Teams do not operate in a vacuum, and a critical first step to building high performing teams is gaining alignment on team context. All too often team members have different assumptions about customers, suppliers, or competitors but misaligned actions can destroy team morale and team efficiency and effectiveness.
