In the ever-widening modern world, the present system of education is facing new challenges. It is well known fact that today is the age of computers, the major achievement of science & technology. In the modern era of science & technology all powerful nations have their supercomputers. Although India today is among one of the progressive nation still we are lagging behind the most advanced countries in the field of science. This problem can be reduced only if the youth of this generation give their full cooperation in rising India as a powerful nation. So realizing this fact and according to their demand when computers are must. We have chosen Computer Science Engineering at our esteem institution SBSSTC College, Ferozepur. This course provides the students the knowledge about various applications of computers. So it is very necessary to jump in the practical field. Hence we were assigned this project, which is the most important part of this subject.
Computer Networking is a very vast project in the present developing era of electronics and communication. Now a days, computers are used in a wider range. All the organizations are using multiple computers within their departments to perform their day to day work. Computer network allows the user to share data , share folders and files with other users connected in a network with high security. Computer Networking has bound the world in a very small area with it wide networking processes like LAN, MAN, WAN.

Introduction to PROJECT
A wide area network (WAN) is a network that covers a broad area (i.e., any telecommunications network that links across metropolitan, regional, or national boundaries) using private or public network transports. Business and government entities utilize WANs to relay data among employees, clients, buyers, and suppliers from various geographical locations. In essence, this mode of telecommunication allows a business to effectively carry out its daily function regardless of location. The Internet can be considered a WAN as well, and is used by businesses, governments, organizations, and individuals for almost any purpose imaginable.
In this project we are trying to explain the whole structure of Wide Area network, how it actually works in different cities or countries based on the policies and strategies applied by organizations or Internet Service Providers, to achieve the best possible services at possible lowest investments for better outputs.

APPARATUS USED
1. Routers
Router is a small physical device that joins multiple networks together. Technically, a router is a Layer 3gatewaydevice, meaning that it connects two or more networks and that the router operates at the network layer of theOSImodel.
2. Switches
Switchis acomputer networking devicethat linksnetwork segments ornetwork devices. The term commonly refers to a multi-portnetwork bridgethat processes and routes data at thedata link layer(layer 2) of theOSI model. Switches that additionally process data at the network layer(layer 3) and above are often calledlayer-3 switchesormultilayer switches
3.Cables:
Cableis most often two or morewiresrunning side by side and bonded, twisted, or braided together to form a single assembly.
A) Straight Cable: It is used to connect PC to Switch, PC to Hub, Hub to Router, Switch to Router.
B) Cross Cable: It is used to connect PC to PC, Hub to Hub, Switch to Switch, PC to Router, Hub to Switch
C) Serial Cable: It is used to connect Router to Router.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project describes the working of a Wide area network. The topology contains features like:
1. Routing protocols EIGRP and OSPF and their Redistribution.
2. DHCP Pools for automatically assigning IP addresses.
3. Dns Server for IP to Name and Name to IP Resolution.
4. NAT for translating Private to Public addresses.
5. Wireless Routers and Devices Configuration.
6. Creation of different VLANs.
7. IP Phones between different VLANs.
8. Inter-Vlan routing.
9. Access Control List
1. EIGRP: It stands for enhanced interior gateway routing protocol. It was designed by cisco. It is a classless routing protocol that supports vlsm.It is an advanced distance vector or hybrid routing protocol. It uses the concept of autonomous system.
