A Presentation ON NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY RESOURCES
CONVENTIONAL ENERGY.ppt (Size: 6.49 MB / Downloads: 982)
INTRODUCTION
Energy is basically the capacity of a body to do work.
The S.I unit of energy is Joule.
There are 2 types of energy sources:
Conventional Energy Resources
Non-Conventional Energy Resources.
Conventional energy sources include fossil fuel energy and nuclear energy like coal, petroleum & natural gas.
It is a Non Renewable source of energy
Non Conventional Energy Resources are continuously replenished by natural processes & by an one time investment we can drew energy for many decades without affecting the environment.
It is Renewable source of energy.
VARIOUS FORMS Of N.C.E.R
Solar Energy
Wind Energy
Tidal & Wave Energy
Biogas Energy
Hydro Energy
Geothermal Energy
SOLAR ENERGY
The energy that is produced from the sun is known as solar energy.
The Sun’s energy comes from nuclear fusion reaction that takes place deep in the sun, where hydrogen nucleus fuse into helium nucleus.
When such a reaction takes place then tremendous amount of energy is produced which is escaped into the space.
About 15-16% of sun’s energy is absorbed by earth’s atmosphere, some part is absorbed by earth’s surface and rest is reflected back to space.
Wind Energy
Wind Energy is basically harnessing of wind power to produce electricity
The Kinetic energy of the wind is converted to Electrical energy
A Wind energy system usually requires an average annual wind speed of at least 15 km/h
BIO GAS ENERGY
Bio gas is generated through a process of anaerobic degradation of Bio Mass.
Bio Mass is organic matter produced by plants, both terrestrial and aquatic and their derivatives.
It includes forest crops and residues, cow dung, leaf litter mixtures, animal excreta dairy cattle, pig & sheep etc.
Unlike coal, oil and natural gas, which takes Millions of years to form, bio mass can be considered as a renewable energy source .
CONCLUSION
At last I conclude that this study of NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY RESOURCES is valuable as it will meet the energy needs in future, as conventional sources of energy is going to exhaust in future and these sources of energy are also harming the environment directly or indirectly. By promoting renewable energy sources we can avoid air, water & soil pollution and Country’s economy will also increase.
