BHEL has contracted more than 150 gas turbines in a short span of about 10 years since the introduction of gas turbine technology, of which more than 100 have already been commissioned. BHEL is able to offer projects based on gas turbines (simple, combined cycle, cogeneration and mechanical drive) on a turnkey basis. This includes the latest model (GE to Frame 9FA + and Siemens to V94.3A). BHEL won prestigious contracts for the supply, assembly and start-up of gas turbine-based power plants in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Some projects implemented include:
Fast-track projects for the Frame-6 gas turbines for Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysia for its Connaught Bridge and Pasir Gudang power plants. Projects commissioned according to the schedule of the contract.
3 large gas turbines (159 MW ISO) contracted by Siemens, Germany - one of these machines is operating in Italy and two others are assigned to Vietnam Project.
In the Middle East, BHEL has obtained 9 contracts for gas turbine power plants in the last 10 years from Saudi Arabia (Frame-5), Oman - for MEW Oman, Oman, Oman Cement Company (Frame-6), Rusail Qarn-Alam Power (frame-6FA) and --- Iraq - Baiji Power Plant (V94.2), Rumailla Power Station (chapter-9).
Two contracts for GTG Frame-9 units executed by BHEL in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The contract in Sri Lanka was received from M / s AES.
