TITLE-External Insulation and Finish System to xyz (building’s name with address)
The contract is for the removal of existing metal cladding from front and rear of exisiting X building residing in Y(place),and the installation of new insulation, external insulation and render finish system to same.
A layer of foam plastic insulation that comes in the form of sheets 2' x 4'.
A final topcoat,or finish, which should be colored, textured paint-like material that is applied with a trowel or, very rarely, by spraying.
Insulation board should have no defects , It should be of
uniform texture and free from broken edges or corners, slits or objectionable odors.
Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) for projects consist of insulation covered by lamina made of base coat, reinforcement and finish coat. Systems must be mechanically fastened to substrates. EIFS should provide thermal insulation and weather protection components of exterior walls, fascias and soffits.Avoid placing such features at locations of stress such as corners of doors, windows and other openings. Keep recesses to a minimum. EIFS should be attached with mechanical fasteners (specially designed for this application). The supporting wall surface should be continuous and flat.
Texture should be determined by the size of aggregate in the finish coat mix. Aggregate sizes commonly available range from 0.75 mm to 3.0 mm, with 1.5 mm being most common. Pattern should be determined to a large extent by the ratio of coarse to fine aggregate contained in the finish coat mix. Do not specify darker colours in combination with expanded polystyrene insulation (EPS), as they may absorb enough solar energy to deform EPS.
