Abstracts: Circulating fluidized bed combustion boiler is a steam generating unit where steam is generated by burning fossil fuels with the aid of an inert solid material which is principally sand and by creating a fluidized condition by maintaining gas velocity more than velocity of particles. As the gas velocity increases, particles begin to expand and become fluidized so that a continuous flow of particles from furnace to flue gas dust is established. The solid particles inside the combustor behave like fluid in fluidized condition, move with high velocity upwards continuously break into pieces, reforms, comparatively higher size particles comes down with comparatively low velocity. In this process, particles carrying heat transfer to the adjacent water/walls.
