we are mechanical engg students we have to do mini project on solar energy
we have no idea and we are confused how we do it? suggest effective ideas which will help to do the best one
Solar energy is the radiant light and heat of the Sun that is harnessed using a range of constantly evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaic energy, solar thermal energy, solar architecture, molten salt plants and artificial photosynthesis . It is an important source of renewable energy and its technologies are generally characterized as passive solar or active solar depending on how to capture and distribute solar energy or convert it into solar energy. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic systems, concentrated solar energy and solar water heating to harness energy. Passive solar techniques include the orientation of a building to the Sun, the selection of materials with a favorable thermal mass or properties of light scattering, and the design of spaces that naturally circulate the air.
The sheer magnitude of available solar energy makes it a very attractive source of electricity. The United Nations Development Program in its 2000 World Energy Assessment determined that the annual potential of solar energy was 1,575-49,837 exajoules (EJ). This is several times greater than the total global energy consumption, which was 559.8 EJ in 2012.
In 2011, the International Energy Agency said that "the development of affordable, inexhaustible and clean solar energy technologies will have enormous long-term benefits and will increase countries' energy security through dependence on indigenous resources, improved sustainability, reduce pollution, reduce the costs of mitigating global warming, and keep fossil fuel prices lower otherwise. These advantages are global. Therefore, the additional costs of incentives for early deployment should be considered as learning investments need to be widely shared. "
