Speech enhancement is one of the important techniques used to improve the quality of a speech signal that is, degraded by noise. Improved speech using the conventional kalman filter requires the calculation of the parameters of the AR (auto-regressive) model, and performing a large number of matrix operations, which is not adaptable. The adaptive kalman filter combined with the perceptual weighting filter used to eliminate matrix operations, reduces computation time and reduces complexity. However the perceptual characteristics of the speech signal depend on the perceptual characteristics of the human ear. To further improve the performance of the speech enhancement system, the kalman adaptive filter combined with the perceptual weighting filter, which is based on the masking characteristics of the human auditory system. Comparison of the above method is very effective for speech enhancement.
Kalman filter is a mathematical method called after Rudolf E. Kalman 1960, through Peter Swerling actually developed a similar algorithm before. Kalman (1960) and Kalman and buky (1961). It was developed as a recursive solution for the problem of linear filtering of discrete data. A Kalman filter is simply an optimal recursive data processing algorithm. There are many ways to define the optimal, depending on the criteria chosen to evaluate performance. The Kalman filter is optimal with respect to virtually any criterion that makes sense. One aspect of this optimality is that the Kalman filter incorporates all the information that can be provided to it. The many methods must estimate the parameters of the AR model at first, and then perform the noise reduction using the Kalman filter algorithm. In this process, the computation of the LPC coefficient (linear prediction coding) and the inverse matrix increase the complexity of the filtering algorithm. A simple Kalman filtering algorithm without computing the LPC coefficient in the AR model, but the algorithm still contains a large number of redundant data and reverse matrix operations. This algorithm is a non-adaptive algorithm. To overcome the drawback of the conventional Kalman filter for speech enhancement, propose a new method, ie the Kalman adaptive filter combined with the perceptual weighting filter. This algorithm constantly updates the first values of the state vector Z (n), which eliminate the operations of the matrix and reduce the complexity of the algorithm. The identification of the exact type of ambient noise is difficult and affects the application of the Kalman filtering algorithm. Therefore, we need an adaptive algorithm in real time to estimate the ambient noise. The perceptual weighting filter is used to provide human auditory characteristics. The results of the simulation show that, in comparison with the conventional algorithm of Kalman filtering, the adaptive algorithm of the Kalman filter is more efficient. At the same time, it reduced its operating time without sacrificing the quality of the voice signal. And also the results of the simulation show that, compared to the conventional kalman filter and the kalman adaptive filtering algorithm, the perceptual weighting filter is more efficient in the case of the human auditory systems. |
