The paper industry sludge causes a huge problem today as an environmental threat and demands serious attention as it is causing land degradation.Therefore, methods are desired to derive value added products from these sources and thereby, intending to improve both the environment and plant economics.The sludge was collected from Madhyadesh Paper Mill,a recycle paper mill caterring the needs of many national dailies. The sludge was analysed for Carbon,Sulfur,Nitrogen and Oxygen content by CFRMI,Nagpur.Proximate and Ultimate analysis were performed to determine these values in addition to the calorific value of the sludge .The sludge had potential for power generation but had a high ash content which had to controlled through the utilisation of dust collecting systems like ESP.Taking notice of this potential, a fluidised bed boiler was designed to generate power to provide steam to 23 pairs of calenderia on a daily basis.The present paper discusses the the project methodology and the designing aspects of a fluidised bed boiler specifically for a recycle paper industry showing the mentioned specifications in the project.
