Company overview
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC). (6th may 1996)
HMIL is the largest passenger car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India.
It currently markets nine car models across segments.
A2 segment it has the Eon, Santro, i10 and the i20(the co. sold 45,297 units)
A3 segment the Accent and the Verna,(6,164 units )
A4 segment the Elantra(488 units)
A5 segment Sonata and in the SUV segment the Santa Fe.(75 units)
It currently exports to around 120 countries across EU, Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Asia Pacific.

India, Asia's fourth largest exporter of automobiles, behind Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
The country is expected to top the world in car volumes with approximately 611 million vehicles on the nation's roads by 2050.
The share of Automobile industry in the last decade in the Indian economy was around 5% of GDP.
The Indian Automobile industry has become the seventh largest in the world with an annual production of over 2.6 million units in 2009.
