A low power transmitter for use in a vehicle safety system includes an oscillator that is isolated from a transmitting antenna. An amplifier is coupled between the oscillator and the antenna to achieve insulation. The amplifier and isolator are tied to a single signal source so that each one starts at the same time. The amplifier has a faster activation time than the oscillator so that the amplifier is fully operational the instant it receives an output signal from the oscillator. The amplifier amplifies the unique frequency of the oscillator and that the amplified signal is transmitted by the antenna to a controller, which controls the vehicle's security system.
