ABC Paper, incorporated in 1989, is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing business of writing-free wood and printing paper. It was created as a division of Amrit Banaspati Company (now known as Amrit Corp) in 1979-80 in Punjab. The division was established with the aim of using wild vegetation, such as Sarkanda, Kahi, etc., and agro-residues such as wheat straw and rice straw.
The company started with an initial production capacity of 30 TPD paper. It has emerged as one of the leading paper mills based on Indian agriculture. In 2005, a captive power plant of 9 MW was installed.
Later, in 2006, Amrit Corp went through the restructuring of the company in which the division deflated paper and paper ABC became a separate entity.
The company has a staff of 700 employees and an annual sales volume of 1600 crores.
ABC Paper was recognized for its efforts to reduce production costs by awarding a National Energy Conservation Award from the Government of India. The company also received the Qualtech North-West Award in 2004 for the implementation of its TQM Project at the plant.
