Abstracts: Expansive soil is covering the 2/3rd portion of India. These soils are considered problematic because of its swell-shrink behavior and thus poor bearing material. In the past several efforts were made to stabilize such soil with stone dust, fly ash, rice-husk ash, marble dust and fiber and it was considerable effective in improvement of the geotechnical properties. In view of this trend in present work, experiment work to stabilize expansive soil with adding stone dust of different percentage (5%,10%,15%,20%,25%) and determination of index properties, like Specific Gravity, grain size distribution, Atterberg limits and free swell Index etc. is undertaken.
