INTRODUCTION
Cash management is a broad term that refers to the collection, concentration, and disbursement of cash.It encompasses company’s level of liquidity,its management of cash balance, and its short-term investment strategies.
This project deals with evaluation and analysis of all the cash management of a particular organization. The study was conducted on cash management systemofN.SMemorialInstituteofMedicalSciences(NSMIMS),Palathara,Kollam.. This is the first specialty hospital in Co-operative sector in
Southern Kerala.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Statement of the problem of this study is ‘An Evaluation of Cash Management ’at N.S Memorial Institute of Medical Sciences (NSMIMS), Palathara, Kollam. The study is based on the information available from various annual reports of NSMIMS.
OBJECTIVES
To match the inflow and outflow of cash in hospital.
To ensure the liquidity position of the hospital.
To determine the efficiency of management of cash in NSMIMS.
To identify the present cash management system is suitable to meet the future needs of the organization
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The main aim of this study was to understand the working and financial environment of NSMIMS. Observe the cash management techniques and, capital requirement, cash inflows and outflows etc.
LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
Busy schedule of the secretary and finance department staff prevented lengthy discussions.
Access to confidential data was restricted.
The study was conducted within a short period, so it is not possible to study all aspects in details.

Hospital Industry is an important component of the value chain in Indian Health Care Industry.
The global medical industry is one of the world’s fastest growing industries, absorbing over 10% of GDP of most developed nations.
India’s cost advantage and explosive growth of private hospitals, equipped with latest technology and skilled health care professionals had made it a preferred destination for medical tourism.
CASH FLOW RATIOS
A ratio is the quotient of a number or sum divided by another numerical value and can be used to concisely express the relationship among selected items of financial statement data. Cash flow analysis uses ratios that focuses on cash flow and how solvent, liquid, and viable the company is.
Operating Cash Flows Ratio = Cash Flows from Operations/Current Liabilities
Cash Flow Margin Ratio=Cash flow from operating cash flows/Net sale
CONCLUSION
An analysis of Cash Management in NSMIMS Hospital found that the hospital has been earning profit through service at an increasing trend . Cash Management shows the result of operations of the firm. It gives a better understanding of the firm’s position and performance. The study was carried out in order to interpret and understands the profitability and financial performance of the hospital.
