Abstracts: Retaining structures are the most important part of the civil engineering structures .Our project consideration is on Gravity Retaining Gabion wall . We have undergone through its civil engineering applications. Gabion wall is used at the thaltej underpass as the correct alternative of retaining structures. It is the most feasible option as it reduces the economy in comparison to other retaining structures to minimize the cost of the project .In detail study, we have gone through its construction methodology which is conventionally done at the site rather than that used in other countries. Here, we consider its limitation of its construction practice undergoing at the site. The workers are not supervised in intervals which lead in wrong practice of construction and due to the rocks used are not correctly prepared in round and angular shape it results in damage of the wire baskets. Hence, in the 7th semester, we have undergone the above analysis based on construction methodology of gabion and analysed the components of Gabion which are ROCK and WIREMESH. Hence, Our aim is to provide a safe ,flexible, economical , environmentally favorable and socially feasible Gabion Wall with different filling materials like Pebbles, Fly-ash Bricks, Marble, Tested Concrete Cube and Rubber waste Tires these are construction materials. Now, In the 8th semester we have Surveyed for the Different Filling Materials used in the Gabion on the basis of their Physical parameters as well as their Design parameter to get an outcome whether these materials are Favorable to use as per Bs code 8002-1994 for filling. We have even visited different RMC plant for the Concrete Cubes near Ahmedabad, For Fly ash we visited its Manufacturing Plant and even met the manufacturing Engineers to know about the Material. But, Due to the Drawback that none of the materials Fulfill all the above Physical as well as Design Criteria Completely. We Reviewed the Existing Design of the Gabion wall as per the Recommended Code and Analysed the three main criteria of Design which are Overturning, Stability, Sliding and reached to an Outcome that the Existing Design is perfect as per the Code and Fulfills all the criteria. Hence, we reviewed that the Existing Gabion Wall is Correctly Designed wall as per BS code: - 8002-1994.
