Organizational behavior is the study and application of knowledge about how people act within organizations. It relates to other system elements such as structure, technology, and the external social environment.- Keth Davis.
Nature and Scope of OB
It is the study of the behavior of people within an organizational setting.
It studies three determinants of behavior in organization. Individuals, Groups and Structure.
It is concerned with the study of what people do in an organization and how that behavior affects the performance of the Organization.
Behaviour can be goal- Oriented, it may be motivate by a desire to attain certain goals.
OB is a field to study that integrated behavioural science. (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, History)
It serves three purposes what causes behavior? Why particular antecedents cause behaviour?
