Abstracts: With increasing population, the business and the trade, it become necessary to compile number of houses, shops & offices in particular areas. The shortage of land in such area has created the need of vertical development of structure. Building frame comprises of beam, column & slab which are considered as main element to carry the forces like gravity load & lateral load. One common type of building has slab and beam floors with beams or girders at least along the lines of the column so as to form a series of bents or frames. In a reinforced concrete structure of this type, there is almost inevitably a large degree of continuity at junction between beams, girders and column. This interaction of the member must be consideration in the design and the reinforcement should be placed so as to avoid cracks, specially near the columns in the region of negative bending moments. An attempt is made here to give general idea to analyze and design the multi-storey building by using software aid. Our project involves analysis and design of multi-storeyed building [G+10] using a very latest designing software SAP2000. The building is subjected to both the vertical loads as well as horizontal loads. The vertical loads consists of dead load of structural components such as beam, column, slab etc and live loads. The horizontal load consists of seismic load. Thus building is design for live load, dead load as per IS 456-2000 and seismic load as per IS 18930-1993. The building is analyzed for the maximum and a minimum bending moment and shear forces by using software SAP2000.
