Need to scan environment
it is well known that business enterprises cannot remain independent of the society . So what ever decision they take has to be in tune with the requirements of society and the dicturms of the institutions . A business organization has to continuously monitor the environment so as to identify the business opportunity and threats . By exploiting its strength and minimizing its weaknesses . If the organization can capitalize their opportunity and effectively thwart the threats it could be able to grow
The concept and meaning of public enterprise
The Economist (London) perceptively observed that the term “Public Enterprise “ is a neat label for a very untidy concept . Verify the concept of PE is very vague and imprecise . There is no nationally ( or) Internationally accepted definition of public enterprise
It is each country’s prerogative to draw the line between PE and other government organizations and activities . For example Port Trusts which are autonomous commercial bodies providing landing facility to ships are not often listed along with PEs But the Airports Authority of India, Providing a similar service for Air transport but it is listed with other PEs . Likewise the BSNL is also an Autonomous status economic activity company which was listed in PEs
