Abstracts: In the present world scenario, the companies which produce liquid or semi-liquid products fill these products in bottles for transportation and selling. Such companies involved in mass production make use of automatic liquid filler machines for bottle filling. These machines have inherent 69problems like dripping of fluid from the nozzles. Also maintaining the cleanliness of workplace is a tough task owing to the complexity of machine. We are working on the problem of dripping in 8-Head Automatic Inline Filler Machine. We have observed that if the dripping could be controlled or minimized, wastage of material will be reduced. Another benefit of reducing dripping is that the cleanliness of workplace will be maintained. The company is facing a problem of lower production rate than the rate demanded by the customer. Lower production rate results in wastage of resources and time. By achieving the required production rate the company’s credit among the customers will be maintained and maximum utilization of resources is possible. In order to address these problems, we have proposed some solutions that include, stopping up-down nozzle movement, using drip tray, using drip-free nozzle, employing a timing screw. Also from our visit to Amul Dairy, Anand we found a probable solution in weight-based filler mechanism. Comparison of the above solutions on various parameters namely control on material wastage, improvement in production rate, cost effectiveness, mechanical input required and feasibility have been included in this report in tabular form. Also relative fabrication and implementation cost of all the solutions has been laid down by us. After thorough comparisons and statistical analysis, we have concluded on the use of drip tray assisted by stopping up-down motion of nozzle and timing screw as being the best and optimum solution to the addressed problems. As a part of our final semester’s project work, we have designed the drip tray and the timing screw. Combination of these three solutions will enable us to achieve our objectives of reduced material wastage and improved production rate
