A paper battery is an energy storage device. Typical electro chemical batteries
or cells convert chemical to electrical energy. It is the combination of nanotubes
from carbon and paper made from cellulose. The electrolyte ion is based on liquid
solution. Once the paper is immersed on ion based solution, there is a chemical
reaction between the liquid and electrodes,in this case of nanotubes. The
electrons which are generated move from the cathode to anode to generate
electricity. The best to increase the output is to stack different paper
batteriesone over the other. The electric output of the battery is independent of
the electrodes thickness but strongly depends on atmospheric relative
humidity(RH) and RH changes from 60% to 85%. A 3-V prototype was fabricated to
control the ON/OFF state of a paper transistor. The lack of a water allows the
paper energy storage devices to withstand extreme temperatures. Paper battery
provides long steady power by functions as a super conductor and a lithium iron
battery. It is light weight due to nanotubes and also used in the portable
electronic devices. It canalso be twisted, rolled or it can cut into pieces into
your required shape withoutany efficiency an as its output. It is used as a both
battery and capacitor. Itgenerates to 1.5 volts of energy. In practical it can be
used to smart tags andsingle use medical devices. The paper batteries could meet
the energy demands ofthe next generation gadgets.
