Management of wilt in Pea
ABSTRACT
Biocontrol agents, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma viride and three fungicides namely Carbendazim, Mancozeb and Captan proved significantly effective in reducing the wilt incidence in pea (Pisum sativum L.) as compared to control. Minimum wilt incidence of 7.64% was observed when seeds were treated with Trichoderma harzianum followed by other treatments as compared to control, where maximum disease incidence of 55% was recorded. In second method, drenching of bioagents and fungicide in soil, minimum disease incidence of 12% was observed as compared to control, where maximum disease incidence of 59% was observed. In foliar spray method, wilt incidence of 22% was observed and 79.4% disease incidence was observed when plants are not treated i.e under controlled condition. Among the three methods, seed treatment proved superior followed by soil drenching.
