Abstracts: Urban road connectivity is one of the key factors for development of any Nation, as it allows access to high volume traffic including commercial and goods and social services. There are number of important points to be considered while involving suitable and economical designs for the high volume urban roads in India. Our study area is located as newly purposed 150ft highway connecting Bedi and Malyasan and is about 7.5kms in length. In Gujarat, most of the area is the Black Cotton Soil. The construction on BCS is not preferable because of its poor Soil Bearing Capacity. So removal of BCS is costly, laborious and time consuming. IS soil classification, soil bearing capacity & CBR has to be performed, then studying the parameter of natural soil, improvement has to be done. By improved soil parameters, the SBC and CBR has to be higher, so construction of road can be done on it and cost of removing BCS can be discarded.
