ENCHANCED INTIMATION SYSTEM IN RAILWAYS USING GSM&GPS TECHNOLOGY

INTRODUCTION
In railways, there is no technology or system exists for intimating the passenger’s about their destination station during their travel. Thus, we have proposed a system to intimate the passenger and to also improve their convenience during travel. To enhance the passenger’s convenience on their travel, provide on intelligence train tracking and management system to improve the existing railway transport service. The solution is based on powerful combination of mobile computing, Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) and Global Positioning System (GPS). The System’s in-built GPS module identifies the train location with the highest accuracy and transfers the information to the central system (i.e., ISP) via GSM. The availability of this information allows the train controller to take accurate decision as per the train location. Using the GPS system results, we send the SMS or Voice call intimation to the passengers about their respective destination details with early discovery.
EXISTING SYSTEM
Location Based System at normally use GSM/GPRS for data transfer or transfer of the location details. This system also need the back end server to store the data and then retrieves and displays them.
Using the Global Positioning System (GPS) integrated with radio systems have provided terrestrial structures with a good precision at a reasonable cost, making radio and satellite signals accessible.
Using the GPS technology, locating the train position regarding to that movement.
No system is currently active in intimating passengers about the train’s location.
DISADVANTAGE
Chances of passenger leaving their destination station.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
To send a short message or voice call intimation about the train’s status to the passengers before boarding.
Using the available GPS technology, the train’s location will be detected and the information will pass to the centralized ISP provider, the passengers are intimated about their destination station during the travel with the help of SMS/Voice call.
Temporary Clustered databases are used in storing passenger’s information so that on reaching a particular station, the respective passengers alone are intimated.
