Abstracts: Road construction and Asphalt Society are getting conscious regarding the existence of the precious raw materials required for construction of bituminous pavements. Constant use of asphalt pavements damages the asphalt pavements due to friction between pavements and vehicle wheels and due the washing away of the pavement surface due to rains. Hence some effective measure need to be taken as the materials required in pavements construction are expensive. Recycling asphalt pavement makes both environmental and economic sense. Reclaimed asphalt pavement constitutes a “treasure trove” of pre-processed road-building materials. The damaged asphalt pavements are excavated by milling process and recycling of existing asphalt pavement materials after gradation of aggregates and addition of the materials missing in the mix is added to produce asphalt mixture for pavement construction by In-plant process. Various rectification tests like bitumen extraction, aggregate impact, abrasion, flakiness elongation etc. on bases of which required grade mixture is produce. The recycling of asphalts results in green environment with considerable savings of material, money, and energy.
