Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
TCS was established in 1968 and was initially called as the 'Tata Computer Centre'. Its chairman was JRD Tata. The very first technological services provided by the TCS was punching card services provided to Tata Steel (CISCO). Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the global IT service provider and is the top ranked IT Company in India. It also provides business solutions, consulting services and outsourcing services. Its headquarters is in Mumbai, India. But TCS also has development centres and branches in the cities Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Noida, Pune, Bangalore, Thiruvananthpuram, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar and Chandigarh. It is the only IT Company to have a branch in Kolkata where other IT companies' plans are either shelved or pending for West Bengal government approval.

2. Wipro
In 1945, Mohamed Premji started Western India Products Limited for vegetable oil manufacturer. It produced oil and soaps based on vegetable manufacturing. In 1966, Western India Products Limited was renamed to WIPRO and the chairman of the company became the legendary AzimPremji. He ventured into IT services and outsourcing and today WIPRO is one of the leading IT service providers in the world. One of the most profitable and innovations was the WIPRO BPO. In 1981, Narayana Murthy along with his colleagues NandanNilekani, S Gopalkrishnan and others started a small software development firm in Pune with a very small initial investment. It is ranked third among the top ranked IT companies in India. Narayana Murthy Center of Excellence (formerly known as Mysore Global Training Centre) is the world's biggest corporate training centre. The Infosys Mysore training centre has the capacity to train up to 25000 employees every year. Practically it trains about 15000 every year. All the facilities and infrastructure is state of the art and of highest value. A trained employee in Mysore Training Centre is respected globally for his training credentials. Because of the strong base, the current Infosys generation is highly skilled and is taking on the best companies in the world to bag the most prestigious IT projects.

4. HCL Enterprise (HCL)
HCL, short for Hindustan Computer Limited, was started in 1976 to manufacture calculators. The founders of HCL were Shiv Nadar, ArjunMalhotra, SubhashArora, Badam Kishore Kumar, T.V Bharadwaj,&Arun Kumar H. HCL is the only hardware giant in India which excelled by supplying hardware technologies. When other IT companies like Infosys, Wipro and TCS were focussed on software technologies, HCL targeted hardware market. In fact its first ever PC was manufactured in 1978, 3 years before IBM. In 1996, HCL became an enterprise comprising of two ventures - HCL Technologies (to target the global IT services market) and HCL Infosystems (to target the IT hardware market). 5. Mahindra Satyam + Tech Mahindra
The much awaited merger of the two big IT giants Mahindra Satyam (formerly known as Satyam Computer Services) and Tech Mahindra is finally out. As per the combined merger, the gross revenues of the companies will touch 2.5billion dollar mark. With all the clients and major IT services coming together, there will be a major boost to the functioning of the company together.
