Automatic meter reading based on RF, or AMR, is the technology of automatic collection of data of the meter of energy and transfer of the data to a central database for billing and / or analysis. This means that billing can be based on actual consumption and not on an estimate based on previous consumption, which allows customers to better control the use of electric power.
The Transmitter connects to the meter and counts the pulses of it and displays it on the LED display. It also transmits RF data. The data is also stored in the EEPROM. At the end of the receiver, the data is received by a receiving module and the microcontroller shows it on the LED display.
RF transmitters and receivers are used to transmit and receive meter readings. They work at the frequency of 433mhz. The circuit was completely controlled by the microcontroller and the microcontroller continuously monitors the energy and sends the data to the receiver. All conditions are displayed on the LED display. In our project we are using the popular 8-bit microcontroller AT89S2051. It is a 20 pin microcontroller.
