The plan was developed by the Department of Social Services (DSS) of the Government of Australia and JAS-ANZ and is based on the National Standards for Services for the Disabled (NSDS), which replaced the 2007 Disability Services Standards on 1 January 2015. quality standards applicable to the disability services sector. They focus on person-centered approaches and promote the choice and control of persons with disabilities, in accordance with the requirements of the National Disability Insurance Plan. Disabled employment providers and the services of the Australian Disability Company must achieve and maintain certification to the SNDS to receive DSS funding.
Applicant OECs must comply with the DEES Scheme (Part 3 of the HS Scheme), Additional Requirements for Organizations that certify Disability Employment and Business Services. Applicants must also comply with the Human Services Scheme Part 1, Common Requirements for Human Services Certification Agencies as the DEES Scheme calls Part 1.
