Abstracts: ? Shear wall is defined as the RCC wall which is started from foundation to top of building in one plane. It is mainly resist lateral load. The rigid frame structure (vertical column-horizontal beam) is not capable to resist lateral load or the section of it will increase. So it is not economic. The shear wall carries about 70% of lateral load so that the section of beam & column can be decreased. Shear wall acts as vertical cantilever in high-rise. ? In this project the analysis & design of high rise building is done by the shear wall system in place of rigid frame structure system. The comparison of the shear wall system & rigid frame structure system is done. The design has been done in software STAADpro-2006. The introductions of STAADpro-2006 has been given.
